Moore River Brewing, a newly constructed brewery and restaurant in the Guilderton/Moore River area, faced the challenge of establishing a reliable water supply system in a semi-regional location. With bore water as the only available source, the project required a comprehensive solution that would meet the diverse needs of a modern brewing operation while ensuring the highest standards of water quality.

The Challenge

The project presented several key challenges that needed to be addressed:

  • Limited water sources in a semi-regional area with scarce rainfall and no ability to harvest water
  • Bore water quality requiring significant treatment for brewing and hospitality use
  • Need for consistent water supply across multiple operations including brewing, kitchen, and customer facilities
  • Water hardness levels exceeding desired parameters for optimal brewing conditions

Our Solution

In collaboration with Think Water Wanneroo, we developed an integrated water supply and treatment system comprising Davey DPS bore pump feeding three storage tanks, dual HM160-19T pumps for premises-wide distribution, twin-stage filtration system (down to 1 micron), 2060SOD water softener, and Davey UV151 High Output UV disinfection system.

Implementation

The system was installed to service multiple operational requirements including brewing operations, kitchen and bar facilities, ablution blocks, and general cleaning needs. The installation ensures seamless operation during business hours and critical after-hours preparation times, through a staged process including:

  • Installation of primary Davey DPS bore pump and connection to storage tanks
  • Integration of dual HM160-19T pumps for reliable water distribution
  • Implementation of multi-stage filtration and treatment system:
    • Twin-stage filtration down to 1 micron
    • 2060SOD softener installation
    • UV151 High Output UV system integration
  • Comprehensive testing and commissioning

Results

The comprehensive water solution has delivered consistent, high-quality water supply for brewing operations while ensuring safe, treated water throughout the entire facility. The system effectively manages water hardness and provides reliable disinfection essential for brewing operations.

The Moore River Brewing project demonstrates the successful implementation of a comprehensive water solution in a challenging semi-regional location. The installation provides the brewery with the high quality water essential for craft brewing while supporting all aspects of their hospitality operations.
