About Us

Just 10 kilometres from the world-famous Margaret River and covering a customer base that stretches from ‘cape to cape region’ in Southern Western Australia, it is little wonder that Cowaramup Agencies has emerged as a business success story.

Cowaramup Agencies has been in operation for close to 60 years, growing and evolving along the way to meet the changing needs of the South West region of the state. And managing director Neil Earl has grown right alongside the business, from working as a stock agent and with just a teenager back then looking after the shop to now employing 17 people. Neil recalls that in early 70s the main business was in sheep, dairy and beef. “The sector was on its knees, but the arrival of viticulture in the region turned things around. About that time I came off the road and started to focus on merchandise. Through to the late 90s we were growing with the boom around the Margaret River wine growing region.” Things have shifted again and where viticulture was about two-thirds of business 15 years ago, he now finds himself with three clear divisions: agri services, where viticulture remains important; irrigation business, which is growing exponentially; and rural residential services. Throughout all the twists and turns, Cowaramup Agencies has always stuck with Davey.

“We’ve been with Davey as long as I can remember, and been a master dealer for 30-plus years."

Davey is a good solid brand and a trusted Australian company. The quality of the product has always been really good and the training they offer is excellent, too. We have incredible expertise within the team that work on pumps and irrigation, led by Brad Miller and it’s one of the reasons our customers come back. Cowaramup Agencies installs a lot of commercial pumps into dairy and other farms, and also large submersible pumps and variable speed pumps into irrigation for a burgeoning avocado sector, and also the viticulture industry. “Davey has dovetailed beautifully with the growth of irrigation,” Neil says. “Filtration is also becoming more important and a lot of people are interested in Microlene products, not only farmers but rural residents who like to capture their own water into big tanks which they then need to filter. Some people are also putting on filters when they are on town water because it tastes better.” Neil says his approach to business is about leading by example. “I have a really good team of people and create a great work environment”. Customers can have complete confidence that we will handle their issue no matter how big or small and see it through to completion.”
