The business was started by Peter Masseroni, who originally supplied just sand and metal, and at 83 years old is still working in the business to this day.  In 1996, Frank Ferella bought the business from Peter. Frank – with his passion for irrigation –introduced water products and pumps to the business. This has seen them expand to two storefronts with over 60 staff spread across Newton and another location in Evanston South. “We sell everything from building and landscape supplies to water tanks and pumps, it’s a good variety and one that keeps us busy. It also means we get to work with a great bunch of builders, plumbers and landscapers, and sometimes even all three working together!”  “We receive over 2,000 phone calls a week from customers with general enquiries about products or looking to buy or replace something. We also transport all our supplies through our own trucks and run about 30 trucks from 2 to 30 tonne that can go as far south as Victor Harbor, north to the Barossa Valley, and out east to Pinnaroo.” Newtons has been working with Davey Water Products since at least 2005. “Davey is a reputable brand with a quality product which makes it easy to sell to our customers. Plus, the fact that most of the spare parts are manufactured locally is a real help and makes it easy for us to service customers if there are any issues.”
