“Mum and Dad started off with just them working the shop, but now we’re at nine employees including myself,” Tom says. “We’ve stuck to what we’ve known over the years – irrigation, pumping and horticulture products across ag, domestic and industrial and mining uses, and always focused on how we can grow those divisions of the business.” Tom says it’s pretty much evenly split between industrial, ag, domestic and mining. “For industrial, we’re mainly working with marine and councils for water supply and water treatment. Then with mining, its supplying pumps for access to water supply, dewatering and water treatment. Our agri customers are largely horticulturists, with avocadoes and bananas being massive up here, and we also do some work with cattle stations inland.” Nuleaf also have a strong online presence, and have had their online store up and running for the past five years. “It’s been a great investment for the shop, it means we're open 24/7 and it allows us to reach a wider base of customers. We ship all over the country and have even shipped pumps to Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands to help with supply on farms and properties up there,” Tom says. Nuleaf has been working with Davey for 30 years, with John and Megan being very familiar with the brand from their previous pump industry jobs before they opened the business. They knew Davey was a quality product and they wanted to stock it in their store.
