About Us

If you live in Samford, Queensland, you’ve probably heard of Samford Village Pumps (SVP), the local pump shop that has been open since 1984. Damian Jedrzejczyk is the fourth owner of the store over its nearly 40-year history. Damian says the strength of the business is built upon creating enduring relationships with their clients through integrity, skilled work, and open and honest communication.

This is a key strength that all the previous owners of the business all shared. “They were all knowledgeable, hardworking, good people who each played a part in making the business what it is today,” Damian says. “What started out as a small pump shop, has grown over the years to be a full-service shop that covers commercial and residential needs.” SVP mainly works across the residential market, from repairs and maintenance of household water & rural pumps, filtration units, to pool equipment, and tanks. Damian took ownership in 2016, having previously worked in the mining industry as a mechanical engineer. “I was looking for a nice sea change, and studied pump design in university, so when I saw this opportunity come up, it was the perfect fit,” Damian says. “Running and owning your own small business is a role with many facets; human resources, administration, sales etc. From my background I’m used to completing design packages with quality oversight, rather than being a man of many parts. It’s taken some adjustment, but I enjoy every day of it.” One of the things Damian is most proud of bringing to the business is a focus on training and succession planning. Bringing on three juniors since starting the business has brought many benefits. “In my first six months I brought on our first school aged junior, who is now working part time with SVP and studying architecture at university. It’s great mentoring and training younger people and seeing them grow in the business. The more time you put into their learning, the more benefits you see in the long run for them and the business. I have people tell me all the time how impressed they are with our junior staff, and it’s a credit to them and this approach to training in the workplace.” SVP’s relationship with Davey stretches back to the 80s and Damian is proud to continue this relationship in the business to this day.

“The number one reason we work with Davey is because of the support. Support on the product, support with customer enquiries, and support with installations. We have to work with suppliers who support us, otherwise we can’t do our job."

“Every installation we do is different, and we know we can troubleshoot any ideas or challenges with Davey, and our customers will know we’ll always follow through with a solution.”
