About Us

Tony Sinagra has been working at Shenton Pumps since the early days of the business, and gives a good birds eye view account of the business growth and expansion.

Shenton Pumps was opened 45 years ago by namesake, John Shenton, and Tony joined the business five years later, working there part time while studying accounting at University. In the early 90s, he became a partner in the business, and these days he is the General Manager. “I started off mainly looking after the general administration of the shop as well as the accounts. When I finished university, they asked if I wanted to stay on fulltime, and so I’ve been here ever since!” Tony says.  When Shenton Pumps opened, they mainly focused on motor rewinding and pump repairs, but now they’ve expanded into three different areas – a retail shop that supplies pumps for the home, the pool or irrigation on properties; a commercial division that handles large scale projects; and the electrical service side, that looks after the service and repair of pumps across residential and agricultural operations. Tony says the reason behind the growth of three divisions was the increasing popularity of online retail in the pump space, and the backup of their well-performing service department.  “Now, it’s an even spread across all three parts of the business, and it means we get to work on a variety of projects. It keeps it exciting.” Shenton Pump’s relationship with Davey started with them buying spare parts for pump repairs. Then over the years as they started to grow and expand, they stocked more and more Davey products. A good relationship with their Davey representative also helped them increase their product range.

“The Davey team has always been great to work with, and they look after us, particularly the team based in Perth."

"They have a versatile and large product range, which is well suited across our three divisions, and they always make sure they support their dealers – whether that’s through product supply and support, or even marketing,” Tony says.
