90 years strong and still growing: Davey expands at Scoresby

After 90 years of Australian manufacturing, Davey is making its next decade count with a major investment in its Scoresby site that secures its operations, expands capacity and strengthens its long-term commitment to local production.
One site, one team
Davey has extended its Scoresby lease, with the option to extend further. The expansion includes a 1,030sqm warehouse extension, boosting capacity from 5,000 to 7,400 pallet spaces. It will also consolidate operations by integrating Waterco’s Knoxfield warehouse, trade counter and customer service team into one central hub.
A new two-storey mezzanine office will feature a trade counter and service area on the ground floor, with office space above, designed to bring teams closer and streamline operations across both brands.
Investing in capability
The project also includes half a million dollars in upgrades in upgrades to the Commercial department. A new 5-ton overhead crane (expandable to 10 tons), in-house balancing machine and enhanced test rig systems will make it possible to build and test more pump sets in parallel, reducing lead times and improving efficiency for make-to-order products.
Local manufacturing, stronger than ever
As part of the project, AquaShield 2.0 production will move from New Zealand to Scoresby, joining the new EvoDrive and DynaDrive Pro assembly lines.
For Plant Operations Manager Bharath Nagaraja, this milestone reflects more than growth, it’s a proud continuation of Australian-made manufacturing.
“We’ve been going for 90 years, and we’ll keep goinig for 90 years more. Keeping manufacturing in Australia matters to our people, our dealers and the communities we serve.”
What it means for dealers
For dealers, it’s business as usual, with added long-term benefits. Dispatch and customer service operations will remain a priority during construction, with no delays or changes to service.
The Commercial upgrades will deliver faster turnaround times on custom pump builds and improved testing capabilities, helping dealers get products to customers sooner.
