Flexibility and supplying reliable product fast were the major motivation for water project consultancy WJ Pratt to partner with Davey water products on one of their most challenging projects to date.

Gumbuya World, located outside Melbourne, is Victoria’s only water, wildlife and theme park. A total of 3.5 million litres of water flow through its pools, slides and lazy river. Consultant Adrian Pratt from WJ Pratt, tasked with designing the water infrastructure, worked with Davey specialists to select and customise pumps for the huge project.

A total of nine Davey long and close coupled ISOspec pumps have been installed at the Oasis Springs water park within Gumbuya World.

The pump selection was absolutely critical to the project’s success, with slides designed to run at very specific flow rates meaning the pumps had to be sized correctly to achieve this. Too much water slows the rides down and not enough water can actually speed the slides up, which of course is an unacceptable safety risk.

Another great feature of the customised Davey pump system is its ability to be run remotely, with the entire plant able to be controlled from anywhere in the world.

The nine Davey ISOspec pumps installed on this project are heavy duty, industrial, centrifugal, pumps that conform to ISO2858.

They are dimensionally and operationally interchangeable with other similar pumps and conform to the ISO2858 standard, providing sturdy, reliable and long-lasting high performance.

Davey - It's a Waterful Life

“We needed to know someone could respond very quickly if there was an issue. But there hasn’t been an issue at all, and in fact when it came time for stage two of the project, we went straight to Davey based on the performance of the products in stage one.”Adrian Pratt | gumbuya.com.au
