About Us

Action Pump Services is a family owned and operated business located in Jimboomba, QLD. They have been in business for over 24 years, with then owners George & Margaret Harvey originally buying the business as Mow & Pump Barn.

Today their son Terry manages the business which is co -owned with Margaret. Terry has always been hands onin the shop , as well as working as a qualified tradesman and plumber. The product line-up was quite small back then, starting out with just four Davey pumps, a couple of ride-on mowers and a handful of push mowers. Fast forward five years and the business had grown enough to allow them to buy the shed next door, expand the business into other ventures across more locations and rebrand themselves as Action Pump Services and PoolPro Jimboomba. Being a family business it’s no surprise that Terry’s son Gary serves as manager of the mower side of the business, in addition to supporting the businesses by helping with its IT needs, marketing consultation and business planning. Terry says that while there are plenty of bigger businesses in the area, keeping focused on their core business of pools, household pumps, irrigation and sewerage treatment plant servicing has made sense for cash flow, as well as ensuring a robust retail and servicing side of the business. “In total we have six businesses, with five of them selling Davey pumps & associated products. We decided long ago to focus on our primary market of pool products and rural water products, including household pumps, irrigation pumps and sewerage treatment systems, which I think has been key to our success.” Terry and his staff of 15 pride themselves on offering good service, and going above and beyond to ensure they have happy customers.

“We all work hard in the business, quite a lot of our customers come from word-of-mouth reputation. The Davey products practically sell themselves, particularly the chlorinators and pumps. Davey offers an easy warranty process, have great service and we are very lucky to have a great Davey rep in Ian Lacey to help us out,” Terry says.
