Mick Horridge’s relationship with Davey goes back to 1988, when he was working as a storeman at the Davey warehouse in Virginia, Brisbane. These days, he’s still a Davey advocate, as the owner of Brisbane-based Aquifer Pumps. Mick opened Aquifer in 2010 after spotting a gap in the Brisbane market following the closure of another pump shop. “It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time,” he says.

“Being located in Brisbane, we have a different product mix than rural dealers. Our big sellers are stormwater and booster pumps, submersible pumps and Davey’s Rainbank system.”

Mick says he stocks Davey because there is strong demand from his customers. “We have quite a few customers who come in and only want to talk about buying another Davey pump. They’re reliable products, which keeps the customers coming back, and for us means repeat business,” Mick says. Mick adds that the support from Davey is second to none. “They stand by their product, and back us if there is ever a problem. They are a strong name in the industry for a reason.”
