Robert Taylor founded Warren Electrical Service in Manjimup, Western Australia in 1973. It started out as a domestic and commercial electrical contracting business, and after a solid few years, they opened a small retail store to compliment the contracting side of the business.
About five to six years ago, Robert handed the business down to his son Paul and his wife Tawana, who oversee the whole business today. Retail manager Alex Darin joined Warren Electrical Service 10 years ago, and looks after ordering the Davey pumps for the retail side of the business. “I came into the business by chance really. I had just finished studying environmental science at university and was looking to move out of Perth. I saw a role at this shop, and fell in love with how diverse the job sounded, and then made the move down south,” Alex says. “I could be working with water pumps one day, to aircon installations the next.” A core focus of Warren Electrical Services is their commercial sales and service of Davey water pumps. “Most of our Davey customers are looking for home pressure systems, or smaller scale irrigation systems. We dabble a bit in vertical multistage pumps and water transfer, but mainly the residential end of things.” Alex says the business has grown a lot over the past 4-5 years, as they’ve put a big focus on the way they service customers on the retail side. “It’s all been about looking after our customers and building strong relationships. We’ve put a big focus on our aftersales service and back up as well. We’re building our reputation as your go-to shop for electrical and pump repair in the area,” Alex says.
“You can’t go past their aftersales back up and support. Davey is a cut above the rest when it comes to support. We had a local truffle farmer not too long ago that needed a quick turnaround on a replacement pump, and Davey organised airfreight out of Melbourne so they had little downtime on farm. They are always looking for a solution to solve any issues,” Alex says.
