7 things you need to know before you buy a pump
If you’re sick and tired of your noisy, unreliable, inefficient old pump maybe it’s time to replace it with a pump that you can rely on. Here’s what you need to know when it comes to choosing the right pump for your home water pressure system and how The Davey Advantage sets you up for success.
Not all pumps are created equal, and while we know our pumps are pretty great, it doesn’t matter how great the pump is if it’s not the right pump for the job, it’s going to leave you disappointed.
So how do you get it right? What questions should you ask?
- First things first, what do you need the pump to do? What’s its purpose? Look at your house size, the number of bathrooms, laundry and other appliances which require water such as your dishwasher
- Are there other things which it would be handy to use the pump for such as draining and refilling your pool or irrigating the garden?
- Are you using mains or tank water?
- What are the other components in your home water pressure system i.e. pipes, filtration, tanks? Because pumps don’t work in isolation, they’re part of a system you’ll need to work out how your pump will fit in/be compatible with the existing system.
- Where will the pump be located? If it’s right outside your bedroom window, you’ll want to make sure it’s quiet… if it’s way the heck down the garden, you’ll need to make sure the pipework and size of the pump can get the water to you efficiently (without sacrificing pressure).
- Do you need water filtration with your pump (we’d say yes you do!)
- Who is going to service your pump and who will you call if something goes wrong? We can tell you right now, there aren’t a lot of water pump experts in New Zealand – you need to make sure you have that after-sale support to ensure your pump lasts and does its job. The Davey Advantage means your pump is installed by an authorised Davey Master Dealer, providing you with peace of mind that you’ll get the right pump for the job and when you pick up the phone someone is there to help you throughout the life of your pump.
